Newly Updated PS3 Slim Incoming

What’s up webfolk? The last time I posted for the PS3 blog, Sony was in the middle of their legal battle against the hacker that broke and posted the key codes for their system. Thankfully for this post I can say that for now all that hacker stuff is behind us and we can now happily focus on video gaming and the near future of the PS3.

Most eyes of the gaming universe are beginning to focus on the GDC gaming conference that is coming up later this month. This looks to be a very big deal for Sony as they make their big push to generate a lot of holiday excitement for their products. Most Sony fans will tell you that all eyes are the price and release date for the new PS Vita but I think that Sony is holding onto some even bigger news for the PS3.

That being that latest version of the PS3 which was released in Japan earlier this year model# CECH-3000B will be coming to the rest of the world this holiday season. I would also be willing to wager that there will be a considerable drop in price for the newest PS3 slim. The Gamescom conference is only a few weeks away now and the rumors are already starting to build about the price drop and the new version coming to all the territories outside of Japan.

For those of you that may not know the specs on the new model let me just give you highlights of CECH-3000B. The unit is about one pound lighter and only draws 200watts of juice as opposed to the 230watts that the present Slim draws now. I hope that this new model will shut the door once again on the hacking hole so Sony can get back to the business of making video games that I love to play. What are your thoughts webfolk? Will we see the latest version of the PS3 slim coming to stores this holiday season and will there be another price drop to kick the sales into high gear? Will this new slim console be the PS3 that pushes Sony back into second place in console wars? Leave your interesting responses in the comments section down below.

Kudos to you peruser ;-)
