Yes all the rumors and news that has exploded on the Internet for the highly anticipated Little Big Planet are true. The ever patient gamers finally have a system selling game changing game to be excited about and in the final hour we get kicked right in the SackBoys with a Worldwide recall and delay of the game. For what I might ask you Sony but a song lyric in the background music in a language that some PS3 owners might speak and might be offended by? Really are you kidding?
Needless to say even the folks at Media Molecule the makers of the game were shocked by Sony’s decision for a global recall of the game and delay of the release. I did see some official word on the pushed back release date for the US here at the official Playstation blog. Looks like the push back date for the US will only be 6 days to the 27th of October. I have not seen any official word of the push back date for all the other territories as of yet. I would assume that since the US is only getting pushed back 6 days that all the other territories will hopefully see a similarly short delay also.
Now I know that in the grand scheme of things a few days more wait is not really going to impact my love of this game. It has however been funny to see the all out distress in peoples comments all through out the blogosphere. I have seen gamers threatening to put their PS3 up on eBay (that’ll teach em!) in general though I think gamers were more offended by the delay of the game due to a song lyric in a background song that is spoken in Somalian of all things. Really are you kidding us Sony? I know this will be forgotten once we do get our hands on the game but this turned out to be a bad PR move on your part Sony. You survived the the church scene in Resistance flack, I think you could have just offered up a day one patch for the game and moved on.
